Leadership can do #10 Excellence.
Last week I helped out in the juniors run, jump, throw. I have been help the kids get prepared for the run, jump, throw I have been teaching them how they stand and how to start before a race. on the run, jump, throw day I was walking around all the stations and helping the teachers run activities and help kids do their best. I ended up getting some pozis from the office to hand out to some students that were doing their best. the way I showed leadership was be lending a helping hand to the teachers that needed it and the care value I showed was respect by cheering on all the kids instead of just one and making another kid fell left out.
Leadership can do #9 Excellence.
Near the end of last week we had this person from the ccc (Christchurch City Council) come in and talk to as. earlier on we visited the ccc and were given and choice to chose a follow up to help the community we chose to paint a chorus box and so val talked to us about the rules and how the process will be done.
I showed the care value community and the leadership trait trustworthy because we are thinking up an idea that will help the community and we are being trusted to do the job well.

Leadership can do #8 Excellence.
Yesterday at technology (I am in textiles and design) I made a pom pom with Natasha, the pom pom is teal and is fluffy, we have made three but they have all failed. The reason for them failing is because of the material it is made out of, after you cut the material it flakes and falls apart. I suggest if you are going to make a pom pom you should use some knitting yarn or something like that. The leadership trait I showed was resilience. I showed this by not giving up when it fell apart and trying to find new ways to fix the problem. the care value I showed was active thinking by trying to find new ways, and asking for help when I couldn't do something.
Leadership can do #7
At koru games I played volleyball, I was captain of the A team and had the responsibility of having my group ready at the right place and at there at the right time. We ended up coming 6th witch is better then last year. The way I showed leadership was by leading my group, being resilient when we were losing points and by having good sports men ship when we did lose to anther school. the school/team that got first was st annes.
Leadership can do #6 Excellence.
Last Friday I helped out in the hall to get everything set up for the quiz night. first me and Natasha were told to go get some tables from other class rooms. This task was hard as the tables were very heavy and wouldn't fit though some doors. We showed resilience by continuing and not complaining.
Leadership Must do #5 Excellence.
On Friday after morning tea me and Katie went around counting and collecting pozis it took a bit longer because none of the classes had counted the pozis, but me and Katie stayed positive, resilient and goal focused and counted all the pozis no matter what.

Today me and Katie presented house points at assembly today it was great because today everyone was getting involved and joining in and when we put our hand up to ask them to be quite they did.
I showed active thinking by putting my hand up to get there attention quickly I also showed resilience for all of those times where everyone was noisy and it didn't go so well. It was great to see all the kids get excited about the house points.

A couple weeks ago I went to wellington with all the year 8's. At take off I enjoyed watching my city turn small but I did NOT enjoy getting a headache. I showed leadership by using my leadership traits on the plane and around the city. I showed all my care values in wellington. What I enjoyed the most was hang out with my friends and making lots of memories.

I Would March For...
WALT: Write an effective argument for our chosen political party.
Stand with us…
In my opinion I think that New Zealand First is a great party and has good policies these are : Restrict land ownership by non-residents, Abolish secondary tax and Remove GST from all food. In this argument I am going to cover three points of why you should vote for New Zealand First. The first point that I have for you is New Zealand First has a policy to restrict land ownership by non-residents.
Restrict land ownership by non-residents.
New Zealand First will restrict ownership of land by non-residents (Non-residents are people from overseas). Non-residents would only be able to buy houses where a genuine need to do so can be established. All sales of farmland to non-residents will be banned. It is also good because New Zealand will own its own land. recently a lot of people have come from overseas and bought OUR land. New Zealand’s primary industries have been slipping into foreign control. Immigrants are also increasing demand for residential property, driving up house prices. Restricting non-residents ownership of land will therefore reduce demand for property, bringing down house prices making it easier for new homebuyers.Another policy that I agree with is abolishing secondary tax.
Abolish secondary tax.
Secondary tax is applied to income from a second job and which is often collected at a higher rate than tax on income from a main job. I believe that secondary tax is an unfair burden on people who have more than one job. Most people have these second jobs so they CAN pay the bills, tax and their needs I feel, there is no need to secondary tax as it does not help the people that are struggling in New Zealand and who are working hard for that money. Abolishing secondary tax will make the tax system more fair and help people working multiple jobs make ends meet. Another reason you should vote for NZ First is because they want to remove GST from all food.
Remove GST from all food.
It will make the cost of food at grocery stores less. Some people in New Zealand might not have the money to afford it. New Zealand First will remove GST from food. Food sold as part of a service in restaurants and takeaway shops will still be subject to GST, but food purchased by those outlets would be GST free. New Zealand first's IS a great party but the party I don't agree with is labour. I don't agree with them because they may want to do good things but that all comes down to them taxing us more Were New Zealand First is about us being fair and equal as New Zealand citizenship.
Establish a Tax Working Group.
Labour believes that New Zealand needs a more balanced, fair and simple tax system. Change to the tax system shouldn’t be random and unfocused. This is bad because what if the new system doesn't work and furthermore makes us have to pay more to the government. It will focus in particular on creating a more balanced tax system, including between assets, wealth, income and consumption. I also think this is bad because people who are wealthier shouldn't be taxed more just because they may own a business or have worked hard to get that money and people with two jobs or more are doing these jobs so they CAN pay all their bills. This is a very good point on why you shouldn't vote for Labour. I feel that it is best if YOU vote New Zealand First.
In this argument I have stated (What I think and feel) the best policies that New Zealand's First has to offer. In my opinion I think that New Zealand First is a great party and has good policies. I have talked to you about three of New Zealand's First policies, these policies are : Restrict land ownership by non-residents, Abolish secondary tax and Remove GST from all food. I have also told you why I don't agree with Labour. So Who are you going to vote for? If I was you then I would vote for New Zealand First.
My next steps are: Understand what the policies mean/ get a better understanding.

One thing that I found challenging about writing formal letters was…………
When we did our letter for the first time and I put a lot of things in the wrong places.

C3. Teach a family member how to use an ICT tool that they are unfamiliar with (like the Flip, Google docs or a specific App)
I did this with my Grandad. The app I helped him use was Gmail because he need to check his emails.
